So the year long wait is finally over as the most awaited Indian movie of the year, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion has hit screens today. The first installment released in 2015 was a nationwide blockbuster and hence the sequel is releasing amid humongous expectations. Let’s take a look at whether the movie could live up to all that.
The movie kick starts from where the first part ended. Sathyaraj’s Kattappa is narrating the story of Amarendra Baahubali to his son Mahendra Baahubali. Cutting back to the flashback, Sivagami (Ramya Krishnan) announces Amarendra Baahubali as the new emperor after decimating the Kalakeya clan. She asks Baahuabli and his trusted aid Kattappa to take a visit around the kingdom to learn about the problems faced by the natives. Baahubali and Kattappa dress themselves as commoners and visit various areas. During the visit, Baahubali happens to meet Devasena (Anushka Shetty) and falls in love with her. The movie on a whole is totally entertaining and unlike the first part has some comedy scenes in the initial half. There are equal doses of humour, emotions, romance and action. The suspense behind why Kattappa killed Baahubali is smarty laced around the screenplay without wasting too much time. MM Keeravani and his music is awesome as always and so is KK Senthil Kumar’s stunning cinematography. Another praiseworthy performance was from actor Subbaraju. Sathyaraj, Nasser and all the other supporting actors have played their parts well. In a nutshell, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion truly lives up to the sky high expectations. This SS Rajamouli directorial is certain to set the cash registers ringing worldwide like never before. Try to catch it at the earliest before someone throws in the spoilers.

Rana Daggubati is an household name all over India thanks to the humongous success of Baahubali and the impact that his character Bhallala Deva left in the viewer’s mind. Rana fitted the bill perfectly as the gigantic and masculine Bhallala Deva who locked horns with the equally towering Baahuabli, played by Prabhas.
Rana is now a popular face across the country and has already made a mark in Tamil and Hindi film circles. The actor was recently in Kerala for the promotions of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.
In a recent chat session with Mathrubhumi, he thanked the Malayali audience for the love they have been showering on the Baahuabli team. The first installment, released in 2015 was a huge success in Kerala registering huge numbers at the box office.
Rana urged the Malayali audience to keep supporting and enjoy the movie from theatres. When quizzed about why he is yet to make an appearance in Malayalam cinema, Rana said that he is eager to act in a Malayalam movie but finds language as a big concern.
Nevertheless, Rana enjoys watching Malayalam movies. In fact, he reprised the role played by Fahadh Faasil in the Tamil verison of Anjali Menon’s Bangalore Days. He also expressed his wish to act in a Mohanlal-Mammootty starrer.
Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, directed by SS Rajamouli, is all set to hit screens worldwide tomorrow (April 28). The movie is releasing in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam simultaneously. Advance bookings have already started and the tickets are being sold out in record time.

Nivin Pauly’s Sakhavu is continuing it’s successful opening run in theaters. The flick runs in house full shows all over the state. The movie is bankrolled by B Rakesh under Universal Cinemas is visualised by National Award winner Siddharth Shiva. Nivin had come up with this political drama after a long gap of one year.

Nivin had recently opened his mind on acting a communism support role to a portal. He said “From the time I had entered cinema I desired to play a communist role. Though I had heard some stories earlier, they were only filled with revolutionary idealism. They only had the plan to fill in red blood and red flags throughout the movies”

“I had the opportunity to portray many roles at a same time in Sakhavu. A good father, friend, politician, protester roles were evident throughout my character. I had confidently signed the movie only because of the director Siddharth Shiva’s storytelling ability. The most important factor that had attracted me to the film was the two phases shown as a leader who believes in the real party idealism and another one who is an oppurtunitist who uphelds the name of the party in every need and destroy’s it” he said.

Sakhavu is not just a political drama, it has gives equal importance to romance, machismo and humour. Aparna Gopinath, Aishwarya Rajesh, Gayathri Suresh, Sreenivasan, Binu Pappu, Sudheesh, Althaf, Santhosh Keezhattoor and many others also play prominent roles.

One of the the most awaited flicks coming this year is Amal Neerad – Dulquer Salmaan team’s Comrade in America (CIA). The movie has so far got so much hype and support from its pre production time. It is expected to have a grand and wide opening in the theaters here. As of reports, it would have a release in 160+ theaters in the state.

Obviously, the most highlighted fact the fans are waiting for is the combo comprising DQ-Amal Neerad. The director who had earlier made blockbusters in the industry with his unique and modern making methods​ are loved by all the youngsters.

He had earlier made movies like Mammootty starrer Big B, Mohanlal starrer Sagar Alias Jacky, Prithviraj starrer Anwar, multi-starrer Bachelor Party and Fahad starrer Iyobinte Pusthakam. Earlier he had also done a small part in 5 Sundarikal naming Kullante Bharya with Dulquer in lead. Now, when the duo join hands once again expectations are high.

The flick is also a political drama and therefore could bring many political party supporters to theaters. From the teaser and sources close to the makers, we have known that the movie will be a complete mass entertainer giving equal importance to romance, heroism and action. CIA is expected to put in a massive first day collection and an incredible final collection in the end.

The movie penned by Shibin Francis narrates the story about Aji Mathew, a Pala based youngster who travels to US for his love interest. Majority of the movie is set and shot abroad in the US. Soubin Shahir, Dileesh Pothen, John Vijay and Jinu Joseph play prominent roles. Debutant Karthika Muraleedharan plays the female lead in the flick.

Mark Chavarria of Inception, Pearl Harbour, Terminator and Logan fame has choreographed the action sequences in CIA. Gopi Sunder composes the tracks and background score for the movie and is funded by Amal Neerad’s own banner Amal Neerad Productions.
